Audio requests from donations in OBS

Set !music donation tiers, clip lengths, local checks and OBS audio routing.

Checked against Subathon v5.0.5 · 2026-10-17

1. Enable and prepare#

Open Audio request, enable it and wait for the player to be ready. Add an enabled donation tier: minimum VND amount and maximum clip seconds. The highest qualifying tier applies; a donation below the first tier does not play audio. Save before testing.

2. Viewer command#

Use !music <YouTube URL> 00:10 in the donation message to start at ten seconds. Standard watch links, short links and Shorts are supported. A timestamp is optional. Extra playlist/tracking parameters do not select a different video. Requests still need a usable video and must pass the checks below.

3. One playback route#

Enable Audio request in the shared OBS output, or add its separate /overlay/music source with the suggested dimensions and Control audio via OBS. This route handles the linked chime, voice and requested clip; do not duplicate the same playback with another output. Listen/test in the studio stays in that tab and does not send a real donation.

4. Local checks before playback#

The app checks Music / Music in this video metadata, rights credits and cover/remix/sample indicators in the description. Local audio fingerprints can block known recordings and reuploads. Unreadable metadata, a failed clip check or a blocked result skips the audio while keeping the thank-you flow. Only the requested bounded clip goes to the player. Passing these checks is not proof of permission to broadcast; use material you are allowed to stream.

5. Skip and troubleshoot#

Use Skip or configure the skip hotkey. If a request does not play, check the enabled tier, amount, player status and reason shown in the queue. When Audio request is disabled, the request does not start playback. Keep the app open and send diagnostics after a repeatable download/player error; do not delete the installed engine as the first step.
